I’m George, a Sydney based Creative Director at Eucalyptus. I partner with companies of all sizes to help create new products, brands & interfaces.

EUCALYPTUS

https
Eucalyptus is a healthcare company building digital experiences for patients through a number of consumer brands. I currently lead the talented creative team at Eucalyptus which is responsible for the development of these brands and all accompanying marketing work. So far we've built Pilot for men's health, Kin for the fertility journey, Software for skincare and Normal for the future of sexual wellness. Many more brands to come!

HALTER

https
Halter is the future of farming, a GPS-enabled cow collar allows you to automate herd movements around your farm via a smartphone. I joined the team at Halter in 2019 to build a mobile product that puts powerful technology in the hands of farmers. With over 100+ hours testing on farm, I’ve milked my fair share of cows and worked with a talented team of engineers to design, test and build the mobile app, from the first version of the product right through to the launch build which was released for commercial customers in early 2020.

INDEX

https
Index is a personal project that I co-founded with Alex Brown in 2016, with the single goal of helping people discover the very best of Auckland city. A month after launch Index had over 12,000 active users. The success of Index was largely due to its intuitive design and its ability to provide relevant content based on your surroundings. The app is still available on the app store and in use today.

V PURE

https
V Energy came to us with the challenge of creating the next big piece of communications for their product. Targeting 20-year-olds. For real change, we decided they needed to reinvent their product rather than just making a new ad. Six months later production was underway, developing an all-natural version of their existing energy drink. Providing the same level of energy with only 6 natural ingredients. Still in market 6 years later.

TRACKED

https
I led the brand & product development for Tracked, a startup that I co-founded with Clinton Geissler with the aim to rapidly improve DJ & Producer workflows while making community-powered track discovery easier than ever before. Soon after launching we partnered with the worlds largest electronic music vendor Beatport, where they used our live track identification technology for their 36-hour online music festival Beatport Connect.

FINISH

https
Finish had reached the point where in order to sell more dishwashing tablets they needed more people to own dishwashing machines. The best way to do this was to create a worldwide hatred for washing dishes by hand. So how do you create a worldwide hatred for washing dishes by hand? You produce a musical. Using the washing up glove as a motif we highlighted every pain that comes with dishwashing. The film aired around the world in countries including China, Brazil, South Africa and Turkey where hand washing is still the norm for the majority of people.

SKINNY

https
In late 2017 I worked with a small team to pitch for Skinny mobile. We won. With a stack of fun digital and tactical ideas, underneath a solid new brand strategy: “We’ll do anything to keep prices low and customers happy”. We couldn’t afford real celebrities like our global counterparts, so instead, we found kiwis with famous names to be our spokespeople. Like Clint Eastwood (from Pukekohe) & Ben Affleck (from Dunedin).

GOCAPS

https
The Plastic Bottle Cap, a humble little chap, has remained unchanged pretty much since it arrived in 1993. By simply changing the injection moulding we turned a regular Mountain Dew bottle cap into a GoPro mount. Mountain Dew has always provided the fuel for skaters, snowboarders and surfers, now the brand could be there with them helping them capture the action. The GoCaps campaign also got Mountain Dew into Skate, Snow and Surf stores for the first time, a new retail channel for the brand that proved to be very successful.

TOM DIXON

https
To launch Tom Dixon’s Fat Chair we created a short 3D sequence bringing the chair to life. I worked alongside the talented 3D artist Guangyu Li to produce the film. Using a range of textures and simulated dynamics we kept the Fat Chair the focus of attention, playing with the bold structure of Dixon’s latest design. We used Cinema 4D, Octane and Marvellous Designer for the scenes with cloth simulation.

VECTOR LIGHTS

https
New Zealand has a goal to use 100% renewable energy by 2035. Vector is the company that powers the country’s largest city had an important role to play in that change. To reflect the nation’s goal, Vector created the largest solar-powered structure in the country. A permanent 90,000 LED surface was installed onto Auckland Harbour Bridge and we then created a 6-minute launch sequence for the structures revealing to the public. Thousands of people around the city, on the water and in the air turned out for the event.
